Tony Yazbeck Tony
winner Len Cariou, Tony nominee Terri White and Tony Yazbeck will
play the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel this summer.
MAC Award winner
and musical director Mark Janas is the host of the Thursday night
open mic series — part of the Summer Oak Room Salon series — that
promises a rotating lineup of Broadway show folk as special guests.
Gypsy's Tony Yazbeck
will be joined by his A Chorus Line co-star Jessica Lee Goldyn
for the Aug. 6 evening that will also feature co-host Tanya Moberly
and Bistro Award-winning performer Marianne Challis (Confessions
of a Middle-Aged Party Girl).
Sarah Rice, of the
original Broadway production of Sweeney Todd, will co-host an
evening dedicated to the Algonquin cat, Matilda, in Waltzing Matilda
on Aug. 9.
Tony nominee Terri
White (Barnum), who will make a long-awaited Broadway return in
Finian's Rainbow this fall, takes to the Oak Room stage on Aug.
20. White will be joined by Kim Smith.
Tony-winning actor
Len Cariou, who starred in the original Sondheim musicals Sweeney
Todd and A Little Night Music, will offer a little
music of his own on Sept. 3. Peter Napolitano co-hosts that evening,
which also features MAC winner Anne Steele as the guest performer.
Additional performers
scheduled for the Summer Salon are Julie Wilson, Julie Reyburn,
Eric Michael Gillett, Scott Coulter, Sue Matsuki, Rob Langeder,
Will Trice, Susan Winter, Aaron Lee Battle, Raissa Katona Bennett,
Jenna Esposito, Jon Peterson and Martin Lass.
There is a $10 cover
